Open Video Tech was set up to explore the toolsets and issues for a decentralised video ecosystem. It was initially funded to explore open web subscriptions using Web Monetization for indie film and video.
Revenue Sharing Language (RSL) & tools
A new syntax and open toolset to create and implement profit share and deferred payment declarations, verification and payouts. It is particularly suited for micropayments or other small revenue splits where it’s not worth engaging a lawyer.
Revenue Sharing Language (RSL) is a new YAML-based syntax to describe Revenue Sharing and payout agreements in a human and machine readable way. Cascade is a drag and drop interface to create RSL agreements in both framework-free native-JS and Svelte-JS. CiviSplit is a suite of three CiviCRM extensions to save, process and payout (experimental) RSL agreements on the three most popular content management systems. MOVA (decentralised video fingerprinting)
A working prototype for decentralised video identification, metadata and verified credentials using the International Standard Content Code (ISCC).
MOVA is a desktop app (Mac, Windows & Linux), developed with Sprillow, that generates an open source ISCC fingerprint from your videos. Change the video – resize it, compress it, adjust the colour or framerate – and it should generate a similar ISCC code. MOVA can then publish these fingerprints with license and payment info on a public database as a ‘claim’ of ownership. It also supports third-party certifiers who could verify specific claims, such as ownership, Sustainability Certification, or award success. mova.claims >
